Según informes Young Money Entertainment de Lil Wayne ha caído en un profundo problema financiero y busca protección mediante bancarrota.
De acuerdo con los ejecutivos (vía MediaTakeOut), la compañía de grabación, que es una huella de Cash Money Records y distribuido por Republic Records, "puede estar pasando por una bancarrota," y "la disquera y su cabeza Lil Wayne se ven sometidos en una situación financiera extrema - sobre todo debido a demandas y el IRS."
Habiendo dicho esto, ¿que puede posiblemente pasar a los miembros de YM como Drake, Nicki Minaj y Tyga si Tunechi no logra cambiar las cosas financieramente? "Si ellos no trabajan rápidamente, puede que tengan que declararse en quiebra y liquidar sus activos," MediaTakeOut indica, alegando que la disquera puede tener que liberar a los raperos de sus contratos.
"Ustedes saben que Jay Z y la gente de Roc Nation se estarán frotando las manos cuando escuchen esto,” añadió el sitio web.
En el 2007, el fundador de Young Money Entertainment, Weezy renunció como presidente, dando la posición a su gerente Cortez Bryant. Dos años más tarde, un amigo de toda la vida del rapero de Nueva Orleans, Mack Maine, se convirtió en presidente.
La disquera de hip-hop ha tenido bastante éxito en términos de música, teniendo numerosos accesos a listas Top 10. Asimismo, lanzó el álbum recopilatorio titulado "Young Money: Rise of an Empire” en marzo.
Sin embargo, T-Raww ingresó recientemente a su cuenta de Twitter, criticando a la disquera de Young Money por no lanzar su cuarto álbum de estudio “The Gold Album: 18th Dystany,“ como él planeaba el 18 de noviembre:
